BLU by ThriveWell's™ Marketing & Communications Director, Melissa Garcia Villa, had the honor of attending the Children's Opportunity Group (COG) Luncheon 2026 at The Westin Fort Lauderdale. This highly anticipated annual event, a luncheon fashion show, brings together community leaders, philanthropists, and supporters for an unforgettable afternoon of style, fun, and giving back.
This year’s theme, “LET’S GET GROOVY,” set the tone for a vibrant and energetic celebration. Luncheon Co-Chairs Caroline Arbuckle and Kelly Hart warmly welcomed guests and officially introduced the afternoon’s luncheon and fashion show, setting the tone for a stylish and impactful celebration.
The event was led by COG President Manuela Boynton, alongside Vice President Heidi Davis Knapik and the dedicated Officers and Board Members of COG, whose leadership continues to drive the organization’s longstanding impact in Broward County. For over 77 years, the Children’s Opportunity Group (COG) has been dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children through its fundraising initiatives and programs. The luncheon drew over 400 guests and successfully raised more than $100,000, with 100% of net proceeds benefiting non-profit organizations, such as 4KIDS that support children of all ages in Broward County.
Melissa was thrilled to engage with fellow attendees and witness firsthand the positive difference that COG continues to make in the lives of children.
“It’s inspiring to see an entire community come together to support children who need it most,” she shared.
BLU by ThriveWell™ is proud to support events that strengthen the local community and create lasting impact for the next generation. The COG Luncheon 2026 was a true celebration of generosity, connection, and purpose, an afternoon that left a lasting impression on all who attended.
