We closed out the year with an intimate and inspiring Thrive Year-End Celebration, bringing together members for an afternoon rooted in reflection, connection, and forward momentum. The gathering was a living expression of BLU’s mission, to add ThriveYears by optimizing the 5 Drivers of Health and Wellness© and bringing the best of evidence-based longevity medicine to those we serve.

Opening with Purpose

The afternoon opened with BLU's Co-founder, CEO, and Cardiologist, Dr. Gordon Chen, who set the tone by revisiting BLU’s purpose and mission while offering an overview of the 5 Drivers of Health and Wellness©. His message was clear: longevity isn’t just about adding years to life, but adding life to years. This philosophy came to life as he introduced the first driver, Personal.

Members reflected on deeply personal aspirations: being healthy enough to attend their grandchildren’s weddings, staying active and engaged in their communities, and building lives in which family, travel, housing, and personal standards remain uncompromising. As one member shared, “January will be six months with BLU, and I have had a healthier diet and better sleep. I wouldn’t have that without you all.”

Community: Thriving Together

Carmen Curro, BLU's Travel Operations Manager, led the conversation into the Community driver, emphasizing that transformation happens best when it’s shared. “Life is about the shared experiences we have with the people around us,” he said. “At BLU, our community is engaging, encouraging, and empowering.” The room echoed that sentiment; members spoke openly about the motivation they drew from one another and the accountability that came from being part of something bigger than themselves.

Physical: Clarity Through Data

Ben Bisesi, BLU's Assistant Operations Manager, guided members through the Physical driver, emphasizing how objective data creates clarity, confidence, and momentum. Reviewing members' progress and markers, he reminded them that retesting is part of the journey and that trends over time matter just as much as individual data points.

As a community, the results told a powerful story:

  • VO₂ Max: Our BLU community achieved a 116.5-point total increase in VO₂ max, a meaningful reflection of improved cardiovascular fitness, endurance, and long-term longevity.
  • Visceral Fat: Together, members achieved a 12.3 lb. reduction in visceral fat, signaling significant progress in metabolic health and overall vitality.
  • Lean Muscle Mass: Collectively, the community gained an impressive 30.98 lbs. of lean muscle mass, reflecting dedication, expert guidance, and a shared commitment to peak wellness.

Beyond the numbers, members spoke to the insight the data provided. At BLU, metrics aren’t about judgment; they’re about understanding, empowerment, and informed action that supports lasting health.

Nutritional: Progress Over Perfection

Jaime Lane, BLU's Health and Wellness Manager, took the floor to discuss the Nutritional driver, reframing the way members think about food. Several participants shared how their relationship with food has changed, moving away from using it as a coping mechanism and toward nourishment that fuels energy, recovery, and longevity. Increased fiber intake, improved energy, and more intentional choices were recurring themes. Jaime summed it up best: “BLU is not about being perfect eaters, it’s about helping you choose food that is going to support your future.”

Spiritual: The Foundation That Connects It All

Closing the 5 Drivers of Health and Wellness©, Tracy Kim, BLU's Integrative Wellness & IV Therapy Specialist, spoke to the Spiritual component, describing it as the thread that strengthens all the others. From improved recovery to emotional resilience, spiritual practices served as daily anchors: meditation and mindfulness, moments of silence in the sauna, peaceful mornings outside as the sun rises, prayer walks, and intentional evening wind-downs. Beginning each day with intention and affirmations has become a transformative yet straightforward habit that carries over into every other area of life.

Looking Ahead

The Thrive Year-End Celebration was more than a recap of the year; it was a reminder of what’s possible when purpose meets practice. As members head into the new year, they do so aligned, supported, and inspired, carrying the 5 Drivers of Health and Wellness© with them as a roadmap for a longer, stronger, more meaningful life.

At BLU by ThriveWell™, thriving isn’t a destination; it’s a way of living, together.
