Fort Lauderdale’s marine industry is an important part of the region’s identity, economy, and international presence. As an active member of the South Florida community, BLU by ThriveWell® was proud to participate in the 10th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Breakfast, hosted by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce’s Marine Advisory Council on October 30.
The gathering brought together business and marine industry leaders to celebrate a decade of connections while exploring the role maritime commerce continues to play in South Florida’s economic development and future growth.
A highlight of the morning was hearing from Laura DiBella, Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission. An enthusiastic advocate for Fort Lauderdale and Broward County, Laura shared her perspective on the marine industry’s significance and the opportunities ahead for the region. We especially enjoyed learning more about her role, her work, and the ways she continues to advocate for Fort Lauderdale.
For BLU, participating in gatherings like this is an important part of being connected to the community we call home. Understanding the industries, people, and leadership shaping South Florida allows us to build meaningful relationships and remain engaged in the broader conversations contributing to our region’s future.
Our engagement with the marine community extended beyond the breakfast. During the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), BLU Co-Founders Drs. Gordon and Jessica Chen joined Kristina Hebert, President and CEO of Ward’s Marine Electric, for a special podcast recording.
Bringing together perspectives from longevity, healthcare, and marine industry leadership, the recording created an opportunity to connect two worlds that share a commitment to innovation, performance, and long-term success.
We look forward to sharing this special conversation soon. Stay tuned for the upcoming episode and an opportunity to hear directly from leaders helping shape the future of their respective industries.
As Fort Lauderdale continues to strengthen its reputation as the Yachting Capital of the World, BLU is proud to be part of a community defined by innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration.
Thank you to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce’s Marine Advisory Council for bringing the community together, to Laura DiBella for an engaging and insightful morning, and to Kristina Hebert for joining us for a memorable conversation during FLIBS.
