Eight BLU by ThriveWell® Members and representatives came together on October 23 to support Habitat for Humanity of Broward County’s 2026 Hard Rock Women Build, an initiative bringing people together to create safe, affordable homeownership opportunities for local families.
Held at Moss Estates, a new 10-home affordable homeownership community in Oakland Park, Women Build brings women together through a shared commitment to making affordable homeownership a reality for local families, many of them led by women. Through hands-on volunteerism and community partnerships, the initiative helps create a foundation for stability, opportunity, and a brighter future.
Among those participating was Dr. Jessica Chen, Co-Founder and Chief Health & Wellness Officer of BLU by ThriveWell® and an avid supporter of Habitat for Humanity Broward. Her involvement reflects a shared belief that building healthier communities goes beyond individual well-being. It also means creating opportunities, fostering connection, and helping families build a stronger future.
Thousands of women across Broward County have contributed their time, talents, and resources to Habitat Broward’s Women Build program, building alongside homeowners. The program demonstrates what can happen when individuals, businesses, and community leaders unite around a common purpose.
During this year's build, BLU Members and team representatives built birdhouses for future homeowners. Though it may seem like a small gesture, each birdhouse represented something far more meaningful: the chance to transform a house into a home, create lasting memories, and celebrate the start of a new chapter.
As Dr. Jessica stated, "Building a stronger community begins when people show up for one another."
For the BLU volunteers, the experience reminded them that meaningful impact isn't always measured by the size of a contribution, but by the care, intention, and sense of community behind it. Sometimes, even the smallest acts can help build something extraordinary.
