BLU recently participated in the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Downtown Business Council Breakfast, where business and community leaders gathered to hear from Stacy Ritter, President & CEO of Visit Lauderdale.
As the official destination marketing organization for Greater Fort Lauderdale, Visit Lauderdale plays a significant role in promoting Broward County to visitors, businesses, and investors worldwide. Through strategic tourism initiatives and economic development efforts, the organization helps drive growth, create opportunities, and strengthen the region's position as a premier destination.
During the breakfast, Ritter shared insights into the projects and initiatives shaping the future of Greater Fort Lauderdale, including the continued expansion of the Broward County Convention Center, international marketing efforts, and major events that attract visitors from across the globe, such as IPW 2026. These initiatives not only support tourism but also contribute to economic vitality throughout the community.
"Everyone under the sun visits here, but everyone under the sun lives here," stated Stacy during her presentation.
While tourism and economic development are often viewed through a business lens, the discussion highlighted their broader impact on community well-being. Strong local economies help create vibrant communities where people can live, work, connect, and thrive.
Events such as the Downtown Business Council Breakfast provide valuable opportunities to learn from regional leaders and better understand the factors shaping the future of South Florida. By engaging in these conversations, BLU remains connected to the people, organizations, and initiatives that contribute to stronger, healthier communities.
